7 Healthy and effective fitness weight loss supplements

When we talk about losing weight, most people usually attribute this as a problem that is only for women. Sadly, this stereotype doesn’t help at all, because many men are equally inquisitive about products that can aid their weight loss aspirations. Thanks to our increasingly sedentary lifestyle and rapidly-worsening eating habits, weight gain, obesity, and the other accompanying ailments or disorders are on the rise. In this scenario, many people are embracing a fitter lifestyle.

However, for many people, the traditional way of simply working out more and eating less doesn't bring tangible results. In fact, you can find yourself in a position where you need to drop a ton of weight in comparatively less time. In a case like this, what do you do?

The following article was written from my own personal experience with weight loss, combined with research that I undertook directly, and from discussions I had with individuals in the health and wellness room. The recommendations for supplements below are offered under the basis that you should in reality further study such substances and determine whether or not they make sense for you personally.

I am a big proponent of testing and knowledge, and also recommend that you try a DNA analysis test such as those that are accessible via companies such as Ancestry and 23andme. You should access the raw DNA data and then send it to Dr. Rhonda Patrick, or Promethease's FoundMyFitness Genetics-Genome Research App.

The aim of uploading your raw DNA data is to gather knowledge regarding nutrition, nutritional patterns, and even lifestyle choices that will be ideal / in line with your genealogy. You will then use this knowledge to become the strongest version of you in your day-to-day life!

Do You Need Supplements?

The short response is not necessary, but, as stated above, by the simple fact that they are suggestible for your gene form you may want to try any supplements.

For me specifically, an indication of this is a hereditary predisposition to deficiency of vitamin D, which emerged of my detailed DNA study. With this knowledge in mind, I make a concerted attempt to boost Vitamin D, and bring my butt as soon as possible into some sunshine!

And supplements can not be absolutely needed in all situations, however strongly recommended.

When I started losing weight several years ago, a lot of thoughts ran through my mind, from bogus weight loss supplements to even considering the 40-50lbs fast and easy liposuction. However, when I took a moment to listen to my own experience and instincts, the reality regarding such philosophies is that they don't fix the heart of the problem-decisions of lifestyle. My general impression on weight loss supplements is that to attain weight loss one does not need to depend on drugs or external items.

Since making it through dumb lifestyle decisions (to keep it short), when I was losing weight, my concentration was not on food but on the constant commitment to optimize weight loss and fat loss. To optimize weight / fat reduction — I have addressed the value of combining Intermittent Fasting (Time-Restricted Eating) in combination with elevated rates of exercise during the week several times. Simply put, you need to consider how you structure your eating, as well as the amount of exercise, effort, and overall effort – resulting in daily calorie expenditure.

Get yourself in a healthy caloric deficit, not by starving yourself, but by exercising, eating healthy and within a Time-Restricted “eating window”.

7 Supplements To Consider for Weight Loss

1. Caffeine or Green Tea/Extract (Matcha)

This is one of the weight-loss drugs which is the fastest and simplest to use.

Caffeine can improve metabolism and improve fat burning. People, though, are aware of the consequences, and as such, the influence will decrease gradually.

Matcha is extracted from Green Tea-Camellia Sinensis, the same herb. Matcha tea is small in calories, and rich in antioxidants including gallate epigallocatechin (EGCG). Researchers at the University of Colorado found that the quality of EGCG in matcha is 137 times greater than that of Chinese green tea. These antioxidants can help to filter out contaminants, improve tolerance, and decrease inflammation of the body, which helps to avoid weight gain and promote weight loss.

Matcha can improve metabolism and help to burn fat while controlling blood glucose levels as well.

2. Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA)

Your body normally develops alpha-lipoic acid but it is often present in a number of foods and usually in the form of a tablet as a dietary supplement.

ALA is an organic compound present in all human cells, formed within the mitochondria – where enzymes convert nutrients into energies. Some research suggests that in weight loss, diabetes, and more, it can play a role. ALA has also been associated with antioxidant properties such as the ability to lower blood sugar levels, reduce inflammation, reduce skin aging, and improve nerve function.

ALA can be derived from livestock products such as red meat and organ meat, along with plant foods such as broccoli, onions, spinach, and sprouts from Brussels without introduction.

Animal tests have shown that ALA can decrease the function of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) enzyme, which is in the hypothalamus of the brain. Meanwhile, clinical tests have demonstrated that alpha-lipoic acid just has a minor effect on weight reduction. A review of 12 trials showed that people who took an alpha-lipoic acid supplement weighed an average of 1.52 pounds (0.69 kg) more than someone who took a placebo during a 14-week average duration.

Personally, I use ALA on and off when I’m looking to cut weight.

3. Glutamine

In general words, glutamine is helpful as it increases muscle mass recovery, which in effect tends to lose more fat.

This can also provide anti-inflammatory effects by incorporating Glutamine into the diet and aid to reduce cravings for heavily glycemic carbohydrates.

Foods with a large content of glutamine contain beef, fish, milk, seeds, poultry, cod, and beans.

4. Krill Oil

Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which provides specific health benefits including better heart and brain wellbeing, decreased likelihood of depression, and also healthy skin. Researchers have proposed that omega-3 fish oil may help people lose weight more easily.

Studies have concluded that although omega-3 fats which are both fish-sourced and krill-sourced are successful in lowering fat rates, krill is more successful. The mechanisms of how this is so had not been clarified in the study but suggested long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFAs) may reduce endocannabinoid activity. The endocannabinoid system is a network of neuromodulatory lipids and receptors that influence appetite, sense of pain, mood, and memory.

Researchers found that krill oil reduced heart fat levels in rats by 42 percent when parameters associated with obesity were considered, compared with 2 percent for fish oils.

I personally shifted from Alaskan Wild Salmon fish oils to Krill Oil because it's more potent and more effective overall, though the supplement's cost is slightly higher.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar

Some will remember that apple cider vinegar is a low-calorie snack, but my emphasis on mentioning this substitute is on reducing the fat accumulation observed in animal experiments.

A team of researchers is also studying the results of a double-blind experiment on obese Japanese. Regular consumption of apple cider vinegar may be useful in decreasing obesity and combating metabolic syndrome. Additionally, several research indicates that vinegar from apple cider helps to balance blood sugar levels, particularly after eating a large meal of carbohydrates.

There are many other benefits to note from apple cider vinegar, however, they do not correlate directly with weight loss, so I will leave them unmentioned for now, but encourage you to look further into this powerful supplement.

6. L-Carnitine

This supplement is somewhat speculative, and I haven't had too much personal experience with it, so it's down the list.

L-Carnitine plays a crucial role in energy generation by transporting fatty acids into the mitochondria of your cells – which acts as engines within your cells, burning fats to generate usable energy. It will bring more fatty acids into the cells for energy consumption, and it's thought that this would improve the capacity to eat fat and lose weight as a result. For this scenario, though, the findings of the human and animal tests are mixed.

It is one of those supplements that can function with one person, but not another, and in the bodybuilding and fat loss culture, it is widely discussed and debated.

I recommend you look more into L-Carnitine, and maybe try on a study to see whether you find some weight loss and fat reduction enhancements.

7. Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) [Bonus]

CLA is a fatty acid that occurs naturally in meat and dairy products. This supplement is gaining popularity and has become widely considered a contender for the miracle weight-loss pill.

While I really don't believe there is such a magic cure, tossing around the word 'miracle' is definitely enjoyable and creates a lot of excitement in doing so. In a study, one group of overweight people shed 9 percent of body fat over one year without any diet or dietary patterns changes.

Now, don't take this as a hint not to change diet, because I launched this article thinking it's the most critical part of weight loss.

CLA has been shown to inhibit heart failure and many forms of cancer in a few small animal trials, while at the same time helping to improve the immune system. Individual experiments are not as definitive as calculating changes using body fat measurements (such as DEXA – Dual-Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry) and are simply not that precise.

This is another of those products where I recommend more testing and trialing to see how it fits for you in combination with lifestyle changes.

The Bottom Line

Again I can not emphasize enough that simply supplementing for weight reduction does not produce dramatic results – you must diet, rotate your body, and I strongly encourage you to implement Intermittent Fasting / Time-Restricted Eating if you have not already done so.

Please study these supplements further to decide if they make sense to you. So I don't recommend having them at once because at any given moment you won't be able to reliably gauge which ones are most successful – loop through them by taking one, two, upwards of 3 supplements. If you would like to try then turn after a few months of use.
