If you've ever tried to lose weight, you've probably heard of "calories in versus calories out" being important.
The principle is based on the premise that you are expected to lose weight as long as you consume fewer calories than you burn. Some people, however, believe that the quality of food you consume is far more important than the amount It contains calories-both in terms of weight loss and long-term health. This article explores whether the concept of the "calories in versus calories out" really matters.
These reference forms are my favorite. It is a concept that took me a long time to understand and comprehend, and I think that knowing it is so crucial for everyone. I used to think those things were off-limits. Yeah candy bars and fast food fall into that category I'm never going to let myself eat them now I enjoy food that people often find "junk food" because I understand the basics of how calories macros work.
If you look at those 2 options, they 're certainly not the same. The food on the left will likely leave you feeling more satisfied and full, and will provide you with more micronutrients.
But that doesn't make the food automatically a bad choice on the right.
Once disassembled into calories and macros, the two options here are overall surprisingly similar. There is virtually no difference in these options from the point of view of managing your weight. You should enjoy a burger from McDonald's and some Reese's cups and have a grilled chicken salad and the same bar had you eaten in the same exact place.
No need to be perfect every single day and you are allowed to enjoy foods that do not directly contribute to optimal health. Can Reese send you a salad to get the micro-nutrients? Clearly not. But that is not to suggest that you can not eat it!
Comprehending calories and macros allows us to see the food for just what it is. No food is good or bad and whatever your goals, you can fit any food into your life! See the image below.
