The digital age in which we live now has many advantages, such as being able to access just about any information at any time, staying in contact with friends around the world nearly halfway, and getting a variety of modern conveniences.
But one field we've started to see weaknesses is in our ability to maintain focus without getting distracted.
Focus on the food basics and master those before you start to think about something else!
I can't tell you how many people contact me to ask me for advice on stuff like how many meals they can eat, or whether they should miss breakfast or start cycling their carbs.
It's most often in an attempt to shed some weight. More specifically, they can not seem to be losing those stubborn pounds to shed.
But when we talk about it and get to the bottom of it, usually they don't even track their current intake. They have no idea how many calories they eat, or how much protein they eat.
Don't get me wrong, you don't have to count your calories or monitor your macros in order to meet your goals or be safe. Still understanding dietary intake and macronutrients are two main concepts for which you can get an understanding. Additionally, for something like weight loss, micronutrients may not be super important but they are incredibly important for your overall health. To put it another way, the quality of your food matters.
This should be secondary to everything else. You should focus on the big three, whether you want to lose weight, gain weight, or just be healthy.
By comparison, the differences which all else makes are incredibly minimal. Worrying without the basics about those topics is like attempting to grasp the calculus without first understanding simple multiplication.
If you're struggling with the basics, don't worry, I'm here for this reason. Keep on and I'm going to do whatever I can to make them easier to understand! cheatdaydesign
