A research conducted by Iowa University found that ursolic acid-a natural compound found in apple skins-significantly increased muscle levels in mice. The study also found that in the mice tested, ursolic acid increased the amount of brown fat. Both of those increases are known for burning more calories.

The rodents given the ursolic acid on a high-fat diet were less obese than those not given the compound found in the skins of the apple. Investigators, therefore, came to the conclusion that ursolic acid can help to burn calories and reduce obesity. Apples might be the key to doing less exercise and losing more.

4. Workouts of high strength
