All those racing thoughts can lead to a domino effect of discomfort in the body when the stress is piling on. One of the best things to do is turn to your mat and float through a yoga routine to alleviate tension, to melt it all away, and reset your mind.

While breathing techniques or strolling outdoors can always help calm the mind, yoga has a 360-degree effect on stress control. It acts as a moving meditation to replace stress-driven thinking with feel-good brain waves (research says so), to create real room in your body and to loosen up all of your contracting, tight muscles. Sky Ting Yoga Studio's creators are giving us a stress-busting yoga flow that takes only 20 minutes to reap the benefits.

"This is a series of 20 minutes for you to undo any tension and anxiety," says Studio co-founder Krissy Jones. "It's a calming flow that you can do after a long day, or maybe you want to start your day with a clearer mind." Really, the stress relief quickie yoga routine is good to do whenever your body or mind needs to hit the pause button, and it doesn't require anything except your mat (and maybe some sort of cushion or pillow for extra comfort).

Inside the yoga flow, you can work through loads of spinal twists that essentially act as a WD-40 for your back, along with light inversions of a la downward dog to get the blood flowing. You will also get stretches of leg-lengthening and hip-opening to get some space into those lower body muscles which are always tight, plus the favorite yoga move of everyone: the pose of the child. It's 20 minutes of real relaxation and body love working to give you a feeling of calm on midday. A hint for Jones?
